Prayer That Brings A Shaking

Lesson:  Acts 4:13-37

Today by the grace of God, I just want us to discuss about someone that you and I know very well.  Of course, His name is Jesus.  As I was reading about Him, I realized that Jesus keeps night shift too.  Matt. 14:25

The message of today is meant to help us when we feel threatened.  Whenever you feel threatened, do what the disciples did.  Pray. Pray. Pray. The threat may concern your spiritual life, marriage, finances, health, children, etc. Go into serious prayer and the boldness for solution will come upon you.

The disciples were imprisoned and threatened to be killed if they did not stop preaching in the name of Jesus, but instead of fear of what the council may so to them, they went to God in a serious prayer that brought release and freedom. When life’s situations arrest you as they arrested Peter and John, you need to pray.)

  1. “They brought God into the picture.”  Have you brought God into the picture yet?  Have you told Him that you’re being threatened?  Have you invited Him?  See Ps. 91:5.  Prayer is the door through which He enters your situation.  Acts 4:23-28

  1. “They asked for greater faith and boldness.”  Acts 4:29. (They asked God to look upon the threats of the council members).

  1. “They expected God to intervene” Acts 4:30.  To stretch out His hands.  Stretch out your hands.  Expect God to move.  He handles all shifts, even night shifts.  Matt. 14:25.  Yes, even at 4:00 a.m. in the morning.  Jesus keeps night shift too.  Whenever you call on him, he will be there.  He appears to people anytime and all the time.

  1. They were filled with the Holy Spirit.  Through prayer, they received the Holy Spirit who gave them boldness and energy to move on.  Acts 4:31.  You can be energized too if you pray.

Abraham was in the presence of God in prayer when God spoke to him about sacrificing Isaac. As soon as Abraham obeyed, his life was never the same again. Prayer is the key to turning your life around. Whenever God wakes you up to pray, rise up and pray. Usually at such times God moves miraculously over people's lives.

I remember that Jabez also took his fears to God in prayer and the Lord met him and turned his life around for good forever. Prayer will release you from bondages. It will pull down strongholds.

When you are threatened, pray like the disciples did. Pray the prayer that brings a shaking. When that prayer occurs, the Holy Spirit will come and strengthen you to bring the boldness and overcoming that you need. Receive the spirit of prayer in Jesus name.
